Who We Support:
Children (6–12), teens (13–18), and young adults (19–26). Whether you’re navigating school stress, anxiety, friendships, identity, or emotions, this is a space where you can explore, grow, and feel understood.
How Do Sessions Work?
Sessions are available both in-person at the Ridgehaven clinic or online via Microsoft Teams Australia-wide. The clinic space has been thoughtfully designed to feel calm and welcoming with natural light, warm tones, essential oils, and even a “tea of the week” to help you settle in.
Fees
Please check with your private health insurer to confirm eligibility for psychology-related claims. While Soulful Psychology and Wellness cannot process private health claims directly, we can provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
Private health $240
Soulful Psychology and Wellness offers services under the Better Access Initiative with Medicare. If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and a referral from your GP, you may be eligible for a rebate. You can receive rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The current Medicare rebate for a session with a General Psychologist is $98.97, leaving the out-of-pocket cost at $141.03 per session.
Medicare Mental Health Care Plan $240
NDIS (self-managed and plan-managed) $232.99
If you are eligible for support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you can use your funding to access psychology services at Soulful Psychology and Wellness. We accept both plan-managed and self-managed funding arrangements, which means we can provide you with the necessary invoices and support you to work with your plan management provider. This funding can help reduce out-of-pocket costs for psychology sessions, depending on your individual plan and budget. Please check your NDIS plan to confirm your available funding and support category.
Please note: the Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee for registered psychologists to deliver psychological services at $318 per hour (as per guidelines for 2025-2026 financial year). However, Soulful Psychology and Wellness believes that everybody has the right to access affordable and professional mental health treatment, which is why we offer more affordable rates.
What To Expect
Your first session is about getting to know you; no pressure, no judgment. We’ll talk about what’s been going on, your/your child's goals, and how therapy can help. You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. Together, we’ll create a plan that feels right for you/your child and set small, achievable steps toward your goals.
Prior to your first session, you will have completed your intake and consent form, and your psychologist will have reviewed this. During your first appointment, your psychologist will review confidentiality and consent, and then you and your psychologist will spend time getting to know each other. Your psychologist will ask you questions relevant to your history, current situation, hobbies and what bought you to psychology, and set collaborative goals and a plan going forward.
In Person Sessions
These will occur at 172a Hancock Rd, Ridgehaven, SA, 5097. Parking is at the front of the building facing Hancock Rd, or on Hancock Rd if this is full (please look at any signage regarding parking requirements). You can then enter the building by the main entrance, and walk down the hall into the waiting area at the back. Feel free to take a seat and your psychologist will collect you at the start of your session time. Please note that this building is a shared space with other allied health businesses, so there may be multiple signages.
Telehealth
You’ll receive a link to your email you provide on your intake and consent form, from Microsoft teams 48 hours prior to your appointment. This will become active 15 minutes prior to your session. Your psychologist will enter you into the meeting at the start of your session time. Please ensure that you have a stable internet connection and are in a private and confidential space.
