Fostering confidence & resilience, 〰️
Hi, I’m Vanessa — Psychologist & Founder of Soulful Psychology and Wellness. I’m passionate about supporting young people to feel confident in who they are and equipped to handle life’s ups and downs. My approach is warm, creative, and collaborative; therapy shouldn’t feel clinical or cold. It should feel like a space you want to be in. I work with children, teens, and young adults to explore emotions, navigate challenges, and build positive self-esteem. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those who are Autistic or have ADHD, to develop a strong and affirming sense of identity. I blend evidence-based approaches with creativity and connection to make therapy both effective and engaging.
I have experience supporting clients with a wide range
of presentations, including (but not limited to):
Anxiety, including social anxiety, OCD, specific phobias, and generalised anxiety
Building and nurturing a positive neurodivergent identity
Depression
Stress management
Sleep difficulties
Low self-esteem
Friendship and interpersonal challenges
Coping with transitions, such as moving from primary to secondary school, or completing schooling
Understanding and responding to emotions
Understanding the role of hormones in mental health
Therapy, but make it soulful.
I use the following evidence-based approaches to inform my practice:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
